GAP (ACFS)

Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) refers to the guidelines for agricultural practices to produce quality and safe products according to specified standards.

The production process must be safe for farmers and consumers, free from chemical contamination, and not cause environmental pollution. The maximum

use of resources is achieved, resulting in high yields and worthwhile investment. Production according to GAP standards leads to sustainability in agriculture,

the environment, the economy, and society.

 

Good agricultural practices for plants are standards of practice that specify the details of the management requirements for the production process that are necessary for good practices in the production of all types of plants, taking into account the environment, health, safety, and well-being of workers in order to produce quality, safe products free from pests, suitable for consumption, and of a quality that is satisfactory to consumers.

 

TUV NORD (Thailand) Ltd. has been accredited for Product Certification Body ISO/IEC 17065:2012 Good Agriculture Practices Scope from National Bureau of Agricultural Commodity and Food Standards. Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives Thailand (ACFS).

Thai G.A.P.

Thai G.A.P. is the private food safety standard operate by Board of Trade of Thailand and the collaboration with National Food Institute (NFI), and Kasetsart University. 

 

Thai G.A.P. Standard aims to raise the standard of Thai fruit and vegetable production throughout the production chain from upstream to downstream which takes into account the welfare of growers and the safety of consumers is important to a traceability system (Traceability) to know the source of products that have received.

 

Thai G.A.P. standards to build confidence and raise standards and quality of Thai agricultural products to be accepted. The Thai G.A.P. standard is considered a production system standard with quality and safety management. In the beginning, it was a product of vegetables and fruits. And will continue to develop to cover other types of agricultural products that maintain food safety for consumers taking into account the welfare of operators and the environment is important.

 

Thai G.A.P. standard is considered an alternative standard for the production chain. from upstream to downstream especially entrepreneurs who want to produce safe agricultural products and food according to international equivalent production standards It is to enhance competitiveness. It also increases opportunities and trade channels. When there is a trade liberalization with allies in the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) as well.

 

TUV NORD (Thailand) cooperation with Board of Trade of Thailand to jointly push for the adoption of the Thai G.A.P. standard in the production system that causes safety from upstream to downstream.
